It’s pretty hard to look at a couple who are smiling and enjoying each other and not find yourself smiling with them. Engagement sessions are a prerequisite to the Wedding Day. I think they are a fantastic idea! Especially when a Bridal session typically includes the bride only, and the Wedding Day is full of everyone. An engagement session gives the couple permission to be themselves and capture a few memories of that special something that has brought them together. Most couples will not feel it’s important to officially document their history again until they’ve added to the family, and that could be many, many years in the future.

This is one of my absolute favorites from this session. I love their genuine smiles, their unspoken connection, and the way she seems to shyly appreciate his affection.

Congratulations love birds. I can’t wait until the Wedding Day. I see great things in your future.

The alternative to a pre-wedding bridal session is a “day after session.” You give up the singular bridal portrait display at your wedding reception in exchange for an after wedding bridal portrait session that includes both the bride and groom You wear your stunning expensive bridal gown, snuggle with your new husband, and enjoy a long portrait session free from stuffy poses. It does make a difference. These two love birds were laughing, reminiscing, and so relaxed throughout their session. October wedding, November ‘Day After’ bridal session. No. Technically it wasn’t the ‘day after’, but you get the idea.

They really are as nice as they look.

What do I do when it’s a terribly windy day? I go with the flow! This breathtaking bridal portrait will soon hang over their bed. I may even hang this one in my new studio! This wouldn’t have been possible if the wind wasn’t whipping around us. Salon styled hair in the wind, with an added wrap, a little sunset warmth, and ew la la we have my favorite from the session. She looks like a Greek goddess statue. Powerful. Strong. Elegant.

I must be the luckiest photographer in the world. How did I end up with THIS couple? They are beautiful!! And our gloomy, cloudy, session afternoon gave us some fantastic images. I don’t mind clouds at all. And to top if all off, it was officially Fall. That means great woody textures and warm hues in the environment.
Congratulations you two love birds. Good thing you decided to go bowling that night. The night you met. I’m so glad you did. Here’s why…

I love the way he looked at her. He’s so in love. Aww.

The “far away” shot is always nice. They look so small. It reminds me that it only takes a small love to conquer a big world.
